Player Safety Expectations

The Anchor Bay Buccaneers prioritize the safety and well-being of all athletes.

All coaches are expected to:

• Follow all league, state, and organizational safety rules and protocols

• Emphasize proper tackling, blocking, and technique at all times

• Create an environment that supports physical, mental, and emotional safety

• Immediately report injuries, suspected concussions, or unsafe conditions

• Never use physical punishment, verbal abuse, or intimidation

• Complete all required background checks, certifications, and safety training

Player safety is non-negotiable and is the responsibility of every coach on and off the field.

Team Commitment & Responsibilities

Coaching with the Anchor Bay Buccaneers requires a strong commitment to the team and organization.

All coaches must:

• Attend scheduled practices, games, meetings, and league events

• Be prepared, punctual, and organized

• Communicate clearly and respectfully with players, parents, and board members

• Support organizational decisions and follow Buccaneers policies

• Understand that coaching is a full-season commitment

Consistency and reliability are critical to athlete development and team success.

Coaching Development & Training

We are committed to developing knowledgeable and effective coaches.

All coaches are expected to:

• Complete all required coaching certifications and trainings

• Stay informed on age-appropriate coaching techniques

• Be open to feedback, education, and continued growth

• Work collaboratively with other coaches and leadership

• Teach fundamentals, teamwork, and confidence—not just wins

Our goal is to build coaches who positively impact athletes both on and off the field.

Sportsmanship & Conduct

Coaches represent the Anchor Bay Buccaneers at all times.

All coaches must:

• Demonstrate respect toward players, officials, opponents, and families

• Model positive behavior and emotional control

• Promote fair play, integrity, and teamwork

• Address conflicts calmly and professionally

• Uphold the values and reputation of the Buccaneers organization

Poor sportsmanship or conduct detrimental to the program may result in disciplinary action or removal.
